What happens when you take an all-star list of actors — Gregg Sulkin, Bella Thorne, Cameron Dallas and Drake Bell — create a love story with the most epic twist and throw in tons of fierce girl power that would make even Queen Bey herself proud? The result is what is soon to be everyone’s favorite animated comedy, Frog Kingdom.
Obviously we were SO pumped when we got to steal Gregg to get the full scoop on this new cartoon adventure. We also couldn’t help but press him for some juicy details on his relationship with the redhead who’s been taking Hollywood by storm lately (Bella Thorne, duh!), all the Faking It, Season 2 updates, and loads more. Read it all here:
Congratulations on Frog Kingdom! Could you tell our readers a little more about this fun film?
“The movie is about a self-contained world which is actually just a pond where all the frogs live. It’s a monarchical society with a king and queen and a princess. Every year they hold the Olympic games, and this year on her 18th birthday the King has decided to give away his daughter in marriage to the winner of the games. So, Princess Froglegs runs away and disguises herself to compete in the games and win to prove “she don’t need no man” lol. Inspector Noggin is one of the King’s advisers and a bit of a know-it-all Sherlock Holmes type. The king sends him off to find the Princess and bring her back, but he can’t even find his own ass let alone the Princess!”
What about your character, Inspector Noggin?
“He’s a know-it-all! (It) was a lot of fun to play him.”
The movie is about following your heart and falling in love in unlikely places. Do you have any relationship advice for teens that are new to dating?
“To be honest, I say just follow your heart. Respect the other person and just be honest. Everyone respects honesty.”
What’s the most romantic thing you’ve ever done for a girl?
“Put rose petals in a hotel room saying “I Love You” upon her arrival.”
Of course the Princess is voiced by none other than Bella Thorne! But, you two knew each other before working on Frog Kingdom — where did you first meet?
“We knew each other from the Disney Circle and throughout the years we always stayed close.”
What was it like working together?
“I didn’t actually spend any time with Bella inside the recording studio on this project. But as always, she nails it. She’s great in the movie.”
Bella’s been taking on some more mature roles. Have you gotten the chance to see any of them? What do you think?
“I have seen them. Apart from being the most wonderful girl, she also is insanely talented and her body of work shows how much she is respected in the business. She’s doing extremely well and I am very very proud of her.”
And what the heck happened to Wesley Fitzgerald on Pretty Little Liars?! Will he be making a reappearance somewhere down the line?
“Who knows!? In Rosewood anyone can come back, so we will see what the future holds. But, the PLL fans were amazing towards me and I’m very grateful for that.”
Let’s talk Faking It! We’re so happy it was renewed for a third season. Even though it’s a comedy, it covers really important topics. With everything revolving around stars like Caitlyn Jenner and Miley Cyrus, what’s it like to be a part of such a relevant show?
“It’s a great opportunity to be a positive influence on our audience and hopefully inspire them to treat everyone with respect, affection and more importantly, as ‘equals.’ Apart from that, it’s insanely fun to shoot and I’m pumped for people to see our new season airing August 31st!”
What can fans expect to see when Season 2 returns?
“LOTS of drama, kissing, and dynamics shifting.”
Do you have any other exciting news that you can share with fans?
“I have a horror movie coming out towards the end of the year called Don’t Hang Up. More importantly, I want to thank (fans) for their support, especially on social media. It’s greatly appreciated.”
