Fanfiction is the shiz. It’s like one giant opportunity for fanatics to show off their creative juices. Sure, some book authors hate it, and some male celebrities find it to be weird AF, but that’s most likely because they themselves aren’t fans; they (or their work) is the inspiration for FF, so it makes perfect sense why they don’t understand its importance. Fortunately, Bella Thorne seems to be completely down with the concept.

Recently, #BellaIsOurSteph trended on Twitter (shortly after boyfriend Gregg Sulkin‘s own TT, #GreggisOurLandon, did the same), in reference to the upcoming big-screen adaptation of After, based on Anna Todd‘s series, which originally started out as a piece of One Direction fanfic on Wattpad. So when we caught up with the 18-year-old actress at the junket for her upcoming animated film, Ratchet & Clank, we just HAD to ask her about her thoughts — and she’s totally feeling it, guys, we swear.

In reference to the fancasting, she says, “They picked me as Steph, [who] is, like, a rocker chick with tattoos and piercings, and I was like, ‘Hey, my fans get who I am now.’”

Watch the video below for her entire reaction:

FYI, when we asked if she’d consider the part, her immediate response was, “Well, I mean, obviously.” Get it, girl!
